AX-7189 Director, Medical Affairs Respiratory
Global Pharma company requires experienced Medical Affairs professional to join their UK Respiratory team, managing a small team of medical and scientific advisors, with the opportunity to work on a major UK launch.
Our client is one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical companies. They are delivering innovative and sustainable presence in core therapeutic areas with a mature pipeline, including HIV/Infections Diseases, Respiratory, Oncology, Immuno-inflammation and Rare Diseases.
This high profile role will see you as a lead within the Respiratory Medical Affairs division providing strategic scientific and clinical input into Respiratory Medical Affairs strategy. You will line manage a team of 2 medical advisors and a scientific advisor, providing guidance and imparting knowledge.
The immediate team focus will be a major launch within the Asthma area. You will be responsible for the ownership and delivery of the medical aspects of the therapy area business plans, including key evidence generation plans, working closely with colleagues across the affiliate and international franchise.
You will drive and shape the environment to facilitate market access and to ensure engagement of relevant Healthcare Professionals, including strategic input into health technology assessments and other relevant submissions. You will also drive the identification, development and implementation of clinical plans, including activities such as Investigator-Sponsored studies, to address data gaps and other key barriers to appropriate medicine use.
Of key importance is to build relationships with key experts and external organisations to ensure that the company retains a leading voice in the UK Healthcare industry.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
GMC Registered Medical Doctor preferable, however PharmD or equivalent may be considered.
Experience of leading medical affairs teams within a UK focused medical affairs role
Previous line management experience preferable.
Primary Care experience is essential, with Respiratory a definite advantage.
