UK Pharma company – Medical Director to provide medical leadership in UK and Ireland for an exciting broad portfolio of products.

The company works in exciting product areas including biosimilars, oncology, diabetes, cardiovascular, respiratory and pain.
Reporting to the Managing Director and sitting on the UK Leadership Team, this key leadership role provides the business with specialist medical advice to ensure the compliant, safe, responsible, professional and ethical marketing and development of its products.
You will provide expert medical and scientific support in a structure comprised of multidisciplinary teams within business units. This role is to ensure the effective and efficient functioning and medical/scientific support of the business units, including also medical information, Code compliance, pharmacovigilance (PV) and regulatory affairs.
You will champion and support the UK and Ireland Codes of Practice and Compliance accountabilities across the company.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team which currently comprises of 20 people - across Medical Affairs, MSLs, Compliance and Medical Information.
You will provide strong external facing support by networking and partnering with HCPs and develop a KOL network in the key therapy areas.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You will be medically qualified with GMC registration and preferably will have completed post-graduate specialty training in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry and have a real understanding of the commercial business strategy and goals and how this translates for the Medical functions.
A solid understanding of clinical development, medical affairs, pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs and relevant Codes of Practice (ABPI and IPHA)
