Our client is a Top 5 Pharmaceutical company seeking an experienced Senior Medical Advisor to join their Clinical Development and Medical Affairs team. This particular role is in the Primary Care Franchise and will take on medical leadership responsibility for cardiovascular and metabolic products and key pipeline molecules currently in Phase III and IIIB studies which will be launched in the coming 2-5 years. This is one of those rare roles encompassing Medical Affairs and Clinical development.
BACKGROUND:
Our client has a well-earned reputation for introducing innovative and effective medicines for disease areas in need of new therapies – particularly in oncology, transplantation and ophthalmology. They are also known for producing new and ever-more efficient medicines for the more common cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, as well as for diseases affecting the brain.
They have one of the best pipelines in the industry with a total of 75 development projects in the pipeline, of which 70% are in trial phases II or III, or in registration. 90% of these projects offer new modes of action or are treatments meeting unmet clinical needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The Senior Medical Advisor will be responsible for:
• Providing advice and support on interpretation of the Code of Practice and as a final signatory ensuring ethical promotion of products and activities in accordance with ABPI, internal SOPs and regulatory requirements for existing products and for activities around our pipeline molecules.
• As the medical expert providing strategic input into brand planning process, locally and a regional level, to ensure medical and scientific credibility and the optimal use of data for competitive product differentiation
• Local phase IV and Third Party clinical trials development to support the marketed products in the CVM portfolio.
• Acting as Chief Investigator on a range of Global phase III studies implemented at a country level, and inputting to ongoing feasibility and delivery of active development programme.
• Key Opinion Leader development, including building your own network of investigators and thought leaders as well as strengthening existing relationships – working closely with a team of highly experienced MSLs.
• Production of data summaries/ briefings of key publications and trial information to the Primary care Business Unit
• Input into Health Technology Assessment submissions
• Support and training for the Primary Care Business Unit on brand and therapy areas
• Support Medical Information as appropriate
• Representing the medical team at national/international congresses
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You will need a GMC permissible medical degree and the right to work in the UK. You will have relevant expert knowledge in the therapy area with demonstrable expertise in medical affairs.
